Allowing signature withdrawal

Some states, including Nevada and Nebraska, allow signature withdrawal. This means that voters can withdraw their signature if they feel they were misled into signing, or if they simply change their minds.

A signature withdrawal provision would allow an opposition campaign to organize an effort to undo reduce the signature totals of the opposition. This can be a public campaign or a covert one; it simply provides an avenue for anyone party to reduce the signature count.

Most states that allow signature withdrawal couple that provision with notary requirements. This makes it challenging to pull together withdrawals in great numbers, because it would be necessary to have notaries on hand to formalize the documents.
